VIVIDSydney - 26 May to 14 June

Sydney is yet again making the most of its beauty by hosting the biggest international music and light festival in the southern hemisphere. Immerse yourself in this unique public festival that will transform the city into a spectacular backdrop of music and light. The Sydney Opera House, The Rocks, Circular Quay and the city centre will glow and capture your imagination.

VIVID is broken down into 4 exciting events -

  • Luminous
  • SmartLight Sydney
  • Creative Sydney
  • Fire Water

Below are just a few events taking place around the City..

Luminous -

77 Million Paintings - The Sydney Opera House transforms for Brian Eno's 77 Million Paintings. Three hundred of Eno's hand-drawn images are cut-up and rearranged to form amazing variations. This 'visual music' will be completely random and entirely original. This FREE event is a standout at the festival.

Lighting the Sails - During the 3 weeks of Eno's show, the famous sails of the Opera House will glow with rich, dramatic colours.

SmartLight Sydney -

Light Walk -This self-guided walk will start from Sydney Obervatory and lead you through The Rocks, around Circular Quay to the Sydney Opera House. It will showcase dynamic light art sculptures that will light up Sydney's iconic harbour front precinct from 6pm to midnight every night during the festival.

Fire Water -

Fire Water - This event will take you back to 1814 when convict ship The Three Bees exploded into flames sending cannon balls blazing across the harbour. This free unique event is a first for The Rocks and will be shown 12-14 June at 6pm-9pm.
