Jolly Swagman Hostel Sydney Internet services.

We have recently upgraded the internet service offered at the Jolly Swagman Backpackers Sydney.

We are using a max speed ADSL2+ internet service provider.

We offer two computer terminals and wireless network to every room in the building. That means you can bring your own computer, or other wireless device to connect to our network, or leave it all at home and use our computers, whichever is your preference.

Also, available for you to borrow webcams headsets and memory card readers.

The Universal Broadband system has the following features to ensure ease of use, and security of access: Radio: Single standard IEEE 802.11g (OFDM), IEEE 802.11b (DSSS), 2.4GHz ISM band, Wi-Fi compliant 54Mbps Maximum transmit power: 17dBm

The Universal Broadband system can serve up to 100 simultaneous users.

The system is compliant to the recommendations of the Wi-Fi Alliance 'Best Current Practices for Wireless Internet Service Provider Roaming' (WISPr). The Universal Broadband system works in conjunction with RADIUS servers based at Australian Technology Park, the headquarters of Universal Network Technologies. For security purposes all AAA and management traffic to the network operation center can be tunneled and encrypted by the internal VPN gateway.

Zero Configuration for Subscribers
Internet access is very easy and user-friendly for the end-user. Subscribers will be redirected to the providers welcome page automatically regardless of their PC configuration. The UAT (Universal Address Translation) feature will accept and translate fixed company IP settings and web proxy configurations - so end-users do not have to reset their corporate IP or web settings

On arrival to the Jolly Swagman accommodation in Sydney you will recieve one hours access to the network for FREE. This can be used with unlimited downloads and you can log on and off the network as you wish. It is valid for one week from the first log on.
