STEP 02 - Open an Australian Bank Account.

Opening a Bank Account online is possible, and offers you the facility to transfer funds to Australia before leaving your home country.

Your money will be waiting for you when you arrive. If you don't need to transfer funds prior to arriving you can delay applying for an account until you arrive at Jolly Swagman Backpackers Hostel then just visit the local banks and have the bank assistants do all the work for you. There are banks are less than 1 minute walk from our doorstep.

If you do want to open an account online, the links  provided on the right are the banks we would recommend as they have many branches all around Australia, and are located very close to Jolly Swagman Backpackers Hostel.

During your application, you will be required to supply an address of residence in Australia for delivery of your bank card, account details, PIN number etc.
